Qualified with a bachelor’s degree in B.Prim.Ed from Stellenbosch University in 1991, my career initially began in education. However, a new and unexpected path opened when I joined Goldfields as a logistics operator – where my passion for trucks and logistics was ignited.
 

Over the next 24 years, I had the privilege of working with three leading logistics companies. During this time, I built extensive industry knowledge, gained hands-on operational experience, and, most importantly, developed strong and lasting relationships and connections within the logistics sector.
 

In 2015, I embraced the opportunity to start my own venture, and Helderberg Logistics was born on a foundation of experience, integrity and industry connections.

Growing up surrounded by trucks and transport discussions, I was immersed in the industry from an early age. I officially joined the business in 2019, partnering with my mother to continue building and expanding the business she founded.
 

From an early age I was exposed to the realities of the logistics world – I embraced my mother’s philosophy of practical hands-on learning. While there are foundational principles that can be studied, the true mastery of logistics come from experience – stepping in, taking responsibility and learning by doing.
 

My passion for trucks started young, with a clear dream: one day when I’m “big” I would own my own fleet. Today that dream is no longer just an idea – it is actively being built, growing stronger with every year of experience and commitment within the industry.

I began my career in the logistics industry in 2017 as an operator with Massyn Transport, where I gained valuable hands-on experience and developed a strong operational foundation within the transport sector.

In 2021, I relocated to Cape Town and joined the Helderberg Logistics family. This transition marked an exciting new chapter – not only personally, but professionally as well.
 

My main goal is to grow with the company as part of a committed and close-knit team, gaining valuable experience. I am passionate about contributing to operational excellence, strengthening fleet performance, and being part of a business that values long-term relationships and shared success.

Qualified with a BCom degree in Marketing and Management Science, I joined my mother and brother in 2021 with a clear purpose – to learn, contribute and prepare for the future leadership of the company.
 

My journey began by working closely alongside my mother, Amanda, assisting with administration gaining first-hand insights into every aspect of the business. As part of the next-generation leadership team, my role will focus on heading all administrative and financial responsibilities. Together with my brother, Matthys, who will oversee fleet operations and management, we are preparing to lead HBL into its next chapter. While I concentrate on financial strategy and administrative excellence, Matthys will drive operational performance and fleet management, supported by the strong team we continue to build.
 

Our shared vision is to honour the foundation laid by our mother while growing Helderberg Logistics into a multi-generational business defined by professionalism, reliability and continuous expansion.

Born in Windhoek, Namibia and raised in Kimberley, Mossel Bay and Cape Town, I began my career after high school with Sanlam and Media 24. In 1999, I entered the logistics industry, where I gained experience hands-on across various logistics companies and developed a strong operational focus.
 

My speciality lies in breakbulk, where I excel at consolidating loads with efficiency and accuracy. I thrive on the challenge of fitting each load together – approaching it like a strategic puzzle.
 

Since joining Helderberg Logistics in November 2024, I see myself as a integral part of the team, contributing across operations within the company’s own fleet while focusing on the broking division, where my practical approach and attention to detail makes a difference.

I began my career on the administrative side at Old Mutual. From there I transitioned into the motor industry, gaining valuable insight into vehicle operations and the broader transport environment.
 

Since 2016, I have been involved in the trucking industry, deepening my understanding of logistics.
 

In 2024, I joined Helderberg Logistics, stepping fully into the world of road freight. Never in my wildest dreams did I realize what truly happens behind the scenes in this industry – the coordination, the challenges, the responsibility and the dedication required daily. The experience thus far has given me a renewed respect for the transport sector and the people who keep it moving.
